1. Who we are

Ask the Nous ("we", "us") publishes short explainer videos hosted by an AI presenter on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, and operates this website at agent.askthenous.com. Ask the Nous is operated by VESTIGOS FZ LLC, Downtown Dubai , Dubai, UAE.

2. What we collect, and why

A. Information you give us directly.

Partner and sponsorship enquiries (/partner). Your name, work email, company, the type of enquiry, and any budget, timing or message you choose to add. We use this to reply to you, to prepare a proposal, and to keep a record of the commercial discussion.

Clip submissions (/send). Your social handle, the handle you want credited, your email, the video file you upload, its description, and the permission you grant us. We use this to review the clip, to publish it with credit if we use it, and to keep evidence that you gave permission.

Removal requests (/remove). Your handle, your email, a link to the post and any message. We use this to find your permission record and withdraw the clip.

B. Information collected automatically. Our web server records standard technical log data when you load a page: IP address, date and time, the page requested, and browser type and version. This is used to operate the site, to apply rate limits and to detect abuse. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or tracking pixels on this website.

C. What we do not collect. We do not ask for and do not want payment card details, government identification numbers, or any special category data such as health, religion, political opinions or biometric data. Please do not send these to us.

3. Legal bases (UK and EEA visitors)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent for publishing a clip you submitted and for contacting you about an enquiry (Article 6(1)(a)); the performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps where we agree a sponsorship or licence with you (Article 6(1)(b)); our legitimate interests in operating a secure website and keeping records of permissions granted to us (Article 6(1)(f)); and legal obligation where we must keep records (Article 6(1)(c)).

4. AI processing, and how our videos are made

Our presenter, Ari, is an AI character. He is not a real person and does not have personal experience of any product he describes. Video scripts are drafted with the help of a large language model and are read and approved by a person before anything is produced or published. Videos are labelled as AI-generated on the platforms that provide such a label.

Clips submitted to us are analysed by an AI service to classify the topic, assess the rights position and flag factual claims for human checking. This analysis processes the video content itself. It does not profile you, and no decision with legal or similarly significant effect is made about you by automated means.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for third-party marketing. We share it only with:

• Service providers acting on our instructions: our hosting provider (server infrastructure), the AI provider used for classification and drafting, and the AI video service used to produce the presenter footage. They may process data outside your country.
• The platforms you asked us to publish to: when we publish a clip you submitted, your credited handle appears publicly in the caption and on screen.
• A prospective partner, where you made a sponsorship enquiry and asked us to involve them.
• Authorities or advisers, where we are required to disclose by law, or where disclosure is necessary to establish or defend legal claims.

Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on your explicit consent or on the necessity of the transfer for a contract with you, as permitted by Article 49 of the GDPR.

6. How long we keep it

• Partner and sponsorship enquiries: 24 months from our last contact with you.
• Permission records for published clips: while the clip is online and for 6 years afterwards, because that record is our evidence that we had the right to publish.
• Video files on our server: deleted automatically about three weeks after publication.
• Removal requests: 24 months, so that we can show the request was actioned.
• Web server logs: a rolling period of no more than 30 days.

7. Security

The site is served only over HTTPS. Our database and permission records sit on an access-controlled server; credentials are held in a root-owned configuration file readable only by the service account. Backups are taken nightly and retained for 14 days. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you send us information at your own risk.

8. Your rights

Subject to your local law, you may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, or provide it in a portable form. You may withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. To withdraw permission for a clip, use Remove my video. For anything else, email info@askthenous.com. We reply within 30 days and do not charge for a reasonable request.

If you are in the UK or EEA and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

9. Children

This site and our videos are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable threshold). If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this notice to reflect changes in how we operate. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
